Ordering & Pickup
Once you're a member, getting your milk is pretty simple. Everything is ordered through MilkShelf, and you choose where you'd like to pick it up. Here's how ordering works, what happens behind the scenes, and what you need to know about getting your order home.

How do I place an order?
Once you've joined the herdshare, you'll use MilkShelf to manage your orders. You'll choose the amount of milk you'd like, select your pickup location, and add any other products that are available that week.
Your MilkShelf account is also where you'll manage your ongoing milk order, make changes, add products, and schedule vacations or pauses.
Is my milk automatically ordered every week?
Your milk order continues according to the schedule you set up in MilkShelf. You don't have to place a brand-new order from scratch every week.
If your needs change, you can adjust your order, pause it, or schedule vacation dates through your account.
When is the order cutoff?
Our regular order cutoff is 5PM 2 days before your selected pickup day. This gives us the time we need to plan production, prepare orders, and get everything where it needs to go.
Once the cutoff has passed, your order is considered final and we've begun preparing for it.
Can I change my order after I place it?
Yes, as long as you make the change before the weekly order cutoff.
After the cutoff, we've already started planning and preparing orders based on the quantities and products requested. We can sometimes accommodate a late change, but we can't guarantee it.
Can I change how much milk I receive?
Yes. Your milk needs may change over time, and we don't expect your order to stay the same forever.
You can adjust your milk quantity through your MilkShelf account. You can increase or decrease your regular amount based on what your family actually uses.
Can I add other products to my milk order?
Yes! MilkShelf allows you to add available products to your order along with your milk.
Depending on the week, you may find things like cream, baked goods, and other farm products available. Some products are seasonal or limited, so what you see available in MilkShelf can change from week to week.
What happens if something I ordered is unavailable?
We're a working farm, which means we can't always guarantee that every product will be available every week.
Milk production can fluctuate, baked goods and other products are made in limited quantities, and some products are seasonal. If something you've ordered becomes unavailable, we'll communicate with you and make the appropriate adjustment to your order.

Where can I pick up my order?
We offer pickup at The Whipped Creamery and at select drop points throughout the Rogue Valley. Current locations, days, and pickup details can be found on our Pickup Locations page.
How do the refrigerated drop points work?
Most of our drop points are refrigerated locations where your order is placed into a designated refrigerator for you to pick up during the listed hours.
Your milk will be labeled with your order information and placed in the appropriate refrigerator. You don't need to meet us there. Simply arrive during the available pickup hours, find your order, and take it home.
What about the Central Point pickup?
Central Point works differently from our refrigerated drop points. It is a scheduled meetup with a limited pickup window.
Because we have multiple stops to make, we can't stay at Central Point beyond the scheduled window. If you're going to be late, please contact us as soon as possible so we can let you know what options may be available. If we don't hear from you, we will take your order to the Dairy Office in Medford.
How do I know when and where my order will be?
Your selected pickup location and day are shown in your MilkShelf account and with your order information.
Pickup hours and specific location details are also listed on our Pickup Locations page. We recommend checking those details before heading out, especially if you're trying a location for the first time.
What should I bring to pickup?
Bring an insulated cooler or cooler bag to transport your milk home, especially during warmer weather. Ice packs are even better.
Our refrigerators and coolers keep your order cold while it's waiting for you, but once you pick it up, keeping refrigerated products cold becomes your responsibility.
What happens if I'm running late?
Most of our drop points have refrigerated pickup with hours of availability, so being a few minutes late isn't an issue as long as you're still within the listed pickup hours.
Central Point is the exception because it is a scheduled meetup with a limited pickup window. If you're going to be late, please contact us as soon as possible. If we have time, we could meet you at a location on the way to our next drop or we will just take your order to the Dairy Office
What happens if I miss my pickup?
You have two days to pick up your order.
For our refrigerated drop points, your order will remain available during the listed pickup hours.
If you miss the scheduled Central Point meetup, your order will be brought to the dairy office unless you make other arrangements with us. You then have two days to pick it up.
Because milk and other products are perishable, orders that are not picked up within two days will be considered forfeited and are not eligible for a refund or replacement.
Can someone else pick up my order?
Yes. A family member, friend, or someone else can pick up your order for you.
Just make sure they know your name, which location they're picking up from, and what they're looking for.
Can I change my pickup location?
Yes, you can change your pickup location through MilkShelf.
If you need to change where your order is going, please do so before the weekly order cutoff. This gives us time to route and prepare your order for the correct location.
What happens if bad weather affects pickup?
We watch weather and road conditions closely, especially when we're traveling between multiple drop points.
If conditions become unsafe and we need to change a pickup schedule, we'll communicate with the affected customers as soon as possible. Our goal is to keep both our customers and our team safe while still getting your milk to you whenever conditions allow.
What if there is a problem with my order?
If something is missing, damaged, incorrect, or otherwise not right with your order, please contact us as soon as possible.
Tell us your name, pickup location, and what happened so we can look into it and determine the best way to resolve the issue.
